Located in the province of Matanzas, Varadero is the most famous beach resort in Cuba, and one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean. Also known as ‘Blue Beach’ because of its clear, calm waters, Varadero is fronted by a 20km (12-mile) fine white sandy beach, which is bathed by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream.
Golf Tournaments can be organized all year round in Varadero, a unique opportunity to meet the excellent Golfers of Cuba, the best chance to culturally interchange with your Cuban counterparts, get to know about Cuba from them, right from the source, and to let them know the American way of life!
Varadero Golf Club is the first 18 holes 72 par golf course in Cuba. It was designed by architect Les Furber, President of the Canadian Golf Design Services LTD (GDS), in the style of Robert Trent (Jr.). It extends over a narrow area of 3.5 km located between the hotels «Be Live Adults Only Los Cactus», «Be Live Experience Tuxpan», «Iberostar Bella Costa», Meliá Las Americas «Golf & Suites Resort», «Meliá Varadero», «Sol Club Palmeras», and «Sol Club Sirenas-Coral».
Registration Fee of the Tournament:
- $150.00 CUC per player
- $60.00 CUC per companion
- Price for 5-star hotels during low season, high season prices will have a higher rate to be quoted upon request
- Prices based on a 21-person group, if the group is smaller price will have to be revised

Day 1 – Miami – Varadero flight
- After clearing Cuban Customs at Varadero Airport, group will be met by tour guide and driver and it’ll be taken to Melia Las Americas in Varadero (½ an hour away)
- Check-in at hotel and rest of evening at leisure

Day 2 – Golf Practice Rounds

Day 3 – Golf Tournament

Day 4 – Golf Tournament – Final day

- Afternoon Skill contest: closest to the pin (Men 8th hole) -(Ladies 3rd hole)
- 6:00 p.m. Prize-giving ceremony at the putting green of Varadero Golf Club

Day 5 – Havana City
- 9:00 a.m. After checking out of hotel Melia Las Americas, transfer to Havana city.
- Stop en route at Bacunayagua Bridge, highest in Cuba, enjoy a Piña Colada overlooking Yumuri Valley.
- Continue Transfer to Havana City
- Late morning walking tour of old Havana
- Unique opportunity to see evolution of architecture in the city since 1519
- Lunch in Old Havana
- Afternoon tour of new Havana in American vintage cars
- Check-in at hotel at Melia Cohiba hotel, time to freshen up,
7:30 p.m. pick-up for Farewell Dinner at local world-renowned Paladar
Day 6 – Departure Day
- After breakfast, check out of hotel and Transfer Out to Havana International Airport for outbound flight to Miami

Things you need to know to be legal
- American residents and citizens require a valid passport from any country, a Cuban Visitor Visa, and mandatory Cuban emergency medical insurance to enter Cuba. Please check your expiration date of your passport and make sure it will not expire during the trip. Cuban emergency medical insurance is generally included in the cost of commercial airline flights. Confirm with your airline or we will check if we make the airline bookings.

- There is no limit on the amount of money you can spend in Cuba nor is there a limit on the value or quantity of items including alcohol and tobacco products that you bring home for personal use. Amounts exceeding US customs limits, including cigars and alcohol, are subject to US duties
- It is 100% legal to visit Cuba on private or public people-to-people tours.
Here are the things that can cause problems and get you in trouble
- Sneak into Cuba from a third country such as Mexico or Panama for individual travel.
- Lounge around all day and drink mojitos all night and do not follow an itinerary.
- Touristic travel such as sun tanning and relaxing on Cuba’s stunning beaches.
- Purchasing an all-inclusive beach junket from Canada, or joining a tour offered by a non-US company.
